My MFJ-1979 telescoping whip antenna extended to its full 16.5 feet. It is quite tall. The antenna is very sturdy except for the very last element, which is thin and may be subject to bending if one is not careful. I may wish to keep the last section which is 12 inches in length inside the next section and add some length to the bottom of the antenna using a Buddipole/Buddistick arm.
